Hey Y'all!

Hi there, I'm Alana! I'm starting this blog not only to help myself cope with my illnesses, but also to hopefully help others as well. I love to write, so I thought, what if my writing could help someone else going through the same thing I am? That's why I'm starting this. Honestly, I've never really blogged before, but I'm going to give it a try!

Some of you may know me from my Instagram account, @salty._.zebra, and this will basically be an extension of that. I got a really unexpected response from my Instagram a while back. I wrote a post about invisible disabilities, and it got over 500 likes. While that may not seem like much, it meant the world to me. It meant that people were hearing what I was saying. Since then, my health has been poor and I've not been writing as much, but just posting brief updates on my health. Hopefully I will resume my regular posting as it seems my health is on an upward trend!

A little about me, I'm a 16 year old who loves to swim, write, play with her dogs, and go to Disney! While I'm not writing or playing with my pups, you can usually find me at my local pool. (I'm the one in the mermaid tail) I love mermaids! I have always loved mermaids, and after I saw The Little Mermaid, it became my favorite Disney movie. Now, I swim in a tail and you can't keep me away from the water! Along with these hobbies, I am also a high school student working on my CNA and Phlebotomy certifications. When I'm out of high school, I want to be a pediatric nurse. I find the medical field so interesting, and with my own experiences, I think I will make a pretty good nurse!
